About Arthur Biffis

Arthur Biffis had a dynamic career as an educator spanning three decades. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Windsor and went on to earn a Masters degree in Education from the University of Toronto. Art's experience in virtually all aspects of education offers valuable insight and knowledge into leadership and relationship building.

His dedication to the principles of the 'human touch' is central to his philosophy of creating authentic learning communities where everyone feels valued and respected and is reflective of his community involvement as a Restorative Justice facilitator, and in his role as a founding member of Communities Advancing Valued Environments (CAVE).

His belief that 'you have to touch the heart before you can reach the mind' is what inspired him to co-author of "The Human Touch: The Heartbeat of Extraordinary Educational, which stresses the importance of "human touch" in successful leadership of a learning community. Art was the recipient of the 2006 "Principal of the Year" Award; given to him by the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Art currently holds the position of College Supervisor for the Medaille College (Teacher's College) in New York State.
