About Arthur Lockhart


Arthur Lockhart has worked within the field of education, social and community justice, as well as personal and organizational transformation for the past thirty years. Throughout this time he has created three award winning organizations.

He is the founder of The Gatehouse: a community based home assisting people victimized by child sexual abuse. He is also the founder of Communities Advancing Valued Environments, and the Canadian Student Institute for Building Community. Arthur introduced the first training of restorative justice to the members of Toronto school systems, police, and community agencies.

In addition, Arthur has led the design teams for: Educational Assistant Certificate Program of Humber College; Advanced Justice Studies Certificate Program of Humber College; Transformative Community Justice Post Diploma Certificate Program of Humber College. Arthur is a contributing author to the "Restorative Justice", Provincial School Resource Officer Training Manual, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and co-developed the acclaimed documentary film: Into The Light.



arthur lockhart He is the co-author of the books: Restorative Justice-Transforming Society, and Community Lost and Found: A conversation between two dreamers, The Human Touch and the manual Creating Your Sacred Path. Currently, Arthur is working on two books, Dynamic Balance: Manifesting Your Human Energy and Lost in Plain Sight: Youth Justice Systems.

Arthur has been the recipient of a number of awards for his pioneering works within the field of education and social justice community and organizational transformation including: Innovator of the Year, Paul Harris Fellow, Youth Impact Award, Student Life Appreciation Award, Gatehouse Inaugural Award, Building Healthy Community Award, Community Service Award, Probation and Parole Award and has just been nominated for "The Order of Canada" for a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.

Arthur presents workshops on the local, national, and international levels.
