Community Capacity

COMMUNITY PROJECTS WE SUPPORT

At Transformative Results, we believe that in addition to creating community, we need to provide ongoing community support. Below are organizations we have been involved in or have supported for many years, and in some cases were instrumental in the beginning organization.

THE GATEHOUSE

The first of its kind in Canada, the Gatehouse was the dream of Arthur Lockhart, following a long discussion with a student who confided in him about the traumatic events of childhood. Arthur Lockhart, Arthur Biffis, and Al Page were able to unite hundreds of people and thousands of dollars to make this vision a reality. It's doors opened in 1998 and since that date the Gatehouse has attracted national acclaim.

Laser Eagles is an extraordinary opportunity for the creation of art, relationships and community. It is a creative and community building opportunity for people with limited mobility and speech to reveal their artistic vision.

Members of our team have been involved and have supported Laser Eagles for a number of years. Please take a moment to visit the Laser Eagles website.

The Canadian Student Institute (CSI) for Community Builders was initiated by Professor Arthur Lockhart, Humber College. The Institute was designed to be a student driven/student centered process, which will deal with a variety of social justice issues, addressed within the paradigm of community capacity building. The Institute was designed in a way to encourage students to come together from all three levels of the educational continuum to collaborate, implement and celebrate youth initiatives that serve to enhance the well-being of schools and neighbourhoods.
